A lipoma is a benign growth of fat cells that typically forms beneath the skin. During the surgery, the surgeon makes a small incision in the skin overlying the lipoma and carefully removes the fatty tumour. The incision is then closed with sutures or surgical adhesive. In most cases, the procedure takes a short amount of time, and patients can usually return home on the same day.
