Patient Testimonial for Core Decompression of the Hip

Testimonial by Mr. N Sandeep Goud

Treatment for: Bilateral Avascular Necrosis
Treated by: Dr. Kirthi Paladugu
Speciality:
Patient location: Hyderabad

Avascular necrosis, also known as osteonecrosis, is a condition that occurs due to a lack of blood supply to the tissue within the bone, leading to the death of the affected bone tissue. The hip is the most commonly affected area with osteonecrosis.

Core decompression is a common treatment method for osteonecrosis. It is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that involves drilling into dead bone tissue near the joint to help lower blood pressure, increase blood flow, and slow or stop bone destruction. A small incision is made over the affected area, and the dead bone is removed using a drill. The incision is then closed and allowed to heal. It is usually performed as an outpatient procedure, meaning that the patient can go home on the same day.

Following the surgery, the patient may need to wear a cast or brace to protect the affected area while it heals. Physical therapy may also be required to help regain strength and mobility. The patient will be able to resume normal activities within three months.

Mr. N Sandeep Goud from Hyderabad successfully underwent Core Decompression of the Hip for Bilateral AVN (Avascular Necrosis) at Yashoda Hospitals, Hyderabad, under the supervision of Dr. Kirthi Paladugu, Sr. Consultant Arthroscopy Surgeon, Knee & Shoulder (Sports Medicine), Navigation & Robotic Joint Replacement Surgeon (FIJR Germany), Minimally Invasive Trauma, Foot & Ankle Surgeon.
