Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) is a severe condition characterised by the sudden onset of respiratory failure, resulting in low oxygen levels in the blood. It can be caused by various factors such as pneumonia, sepsis, trauma, or the inhalation of harmful substances.
